Anyone found their sweetspot between comfort and snakebite yet? I know this was done to death on the old forum but I didn't take any notice then ๐
Would surely depend on your weight, riding location and style?
Depends a lot on tyre but (as a bifta) I use ~40psi
30 psi ..... tubeless
45-50 psi none tubeless..although forget the comfort bit with 45-50 psi
In other words go tubeless ๐
I find i roll the tyre off the rim with 30psi tubeless.
Non-tubeless on a Conti 2.4 Mountain King, considering putting my Maxxis Swampthing back on..
I take it they are converted rims ??
30-35PSI. WTB Exiwolf or Weirwolf 29er on DT rims and a careful 140lb rider.
So many variables you are best getting out there and trying yourself.
Next question...
SSP
Too many variables. I use 35 - 55 psi depending on tyre, terrain and bike
Biffa here. Run 40psi pretty consistently, seems to avoid snakebites.
30 psi, tubeless and tubed (only 11 stone though)
Run 28-30 psi on my hardtail rear (Cove Stiffee so it's a very rigid rear) I weigh in at 14 stone. It's usually a Maxxis 2xply 2.35 high roller or minnion 60a on a mavic 719xm rim non-tubeless. I have had one rear puncture in about 3 years with this setup that includes riding the sharpest rockiest trails in the Lakes/Scotland and seriously going for it.
2 bar. on all mountain bikes front and rear. job done
Zero PSI for comfort
100 PSI for performance.
Or use anything in between. You learned how to use a pump yet Hora?
38psi in the maxxis swamptings2.1's
25-30 in anything bigger for the summer, although seeing the amount of grip the swampthings have i tempted to stick with the narrower treds.
Oh and before you nag - it really does depend on where you ride you spanner! Road bike with commuting in mind or MTB with REAL biking in mind?
Tell me and tell me what rims, tyres and tubes. I might find a sensible answer.....

35 psi tubed with maxxis aDvantage seems to survive my backend being smashed about on the HT.
130psi on one of the bikes recently pictured on here.
How would zero psi be comfortable?
You'd be riding on the rims! :p

Same here.
30-35psi.
Non-tubeless on a Conti 2.4 Mountain King
On the back of your Chameleon? Same set-up for me is 30psi. 12 stones mr average though
Rich - He doesn't ride so it'd make no odds having zero in it.
Will try 38psi. Wide rims (Mavic 321), currently running at 45psi and its a smidgen harsh.
Bout 35 psi with tubes around the peaks, hardtail or full suss. Generally softer on front wheel..
Is there such a thing as an ACCURATE pressure gauge for presta valves?
Got a gauge on my track pump but it's a bit hit and miss
freeandsingle, how much do you weigh?
I'm 15.5stone ๐
i generally just stick to 35psi, spesh resolution pro 2.3, nats under 13 stone.
With 2.0 bonty Mud X's tend to have 40psi in them on the back, with 2.35 Maxxis Ignitors about 35-36psi seems aout right for me.
13st, Mavic 321's Cove Handjob
jesus, this has to be a new low
37.82543698012345222111OMG56 psi.
Or
37.82543698012345222111WTF57 psi if it all looks a bit rocky.
100psi
hora, I'm 15.49 stone you bloater!
was runing 35psi in a 2.1 NN on a dt5.1...............got three puntures in one ride couple of weekends ago
now running 40psi in a 2.3 Spyder..........no punctures last weekend (keeps fingers crossed)
oi! Ok, will chuck on the Swampthing and take off the conti and run at 40psi first. Dont fancy carrying reams and reams of tubes around with me!
Sit on the bike. If the tyres don't look too squishy all is fine!

did you come to that conclusion all by your self? ;o)
