That Stif clearance has some decent looking trousers for good prices. I generally like ION kit so have a few options on the way.

That Stif Outlet eBay store has X01 Eagle groupsets for a penny under 500. Absolute bargain. I paid around 900 euros for all the kit you get from one of the German stores last year, and the cheapest I can see now is r2 bike for around 1,000 euros.

Only caveat is that the cassette is the 50t one, which isn't really that much of a caveat.

I ordered some PI from Sports Direct and so began a saga...

Package arrived a fortnight ago (28 Jan) with one instead of 3 items, weighing <20% of what the label said it should, cut at the bottom resealed with brown parcel tape. Plenty space in the bag for the other two items. Reported straight away, sent round in circles by bot advising to re-check if item was in stock etc, eventually informed that the relevant dept would be informed. Then silence.

2 days later got past the bot again to register complaint, with photos etc. Silence, until 8 days later I have email from apologetic and responsive first-line support person. Repeat explanation, re-send photos, support person immediately escalates. Then silence again, apart from one email from same person saying 'very sorry, that dept hasnt responded yet'.

Meanwhile both SD and their courier Evri (sigh) are both asking by email 'how did we do?'.

Best course of action? Perhaps request that Paypal investigate? (perhaps I should have used credit card instead) Tell Evri that the parcel was tampered with? Don't know.  Just want a refund now and to never waste time on these fsckers again.

I tried to order something from Evans (essentially Sports Direct) but the item wouldn't go in to my basket despite trying different devices, Browsers etc.

I contacted Evans and I kid you not this is the advice they gave......."don't add them item to your basket".

I can't fault their resolution, I mean I no longer get the error message but surely that limits the profitability of the website/business?

I won't be ordering from them in the future.

I literally refuse to buy from there now

before xmas i took up an offer for a 10? 20? quid voucher on a 100 quid spend, so sorted some presents, couple of pairs of trainers for the lad, a set of sealskins for the OH, to bump it up to the 100 i grabbed an xbox controller i "needed".. eventually 2 packages sent out.. and then nothing... eventually 1 of the 2 turned up, the other returned to sender... of course i got the controller i didnt especially need, and no the stuff i wanted... and of course no voucher for later..

How do they size up? Normally need a 9.5 so the 10s might be a bit big? Or are they 5-10 type measurements?

It's a huge thread, so no idea if these have been done before, but Merlin have 66% off OEM Rockshox Reverb 31.6 dropper posts - https://www.merlincycles.com/rockshox-reverb-stealth-oem-seatpost-133948.html

Scratch that. I found some Ion Scrubs (of which I already have a pair that I like) on the Stiff sale so went for those instead. Previous pair have done 3 summers and only now starting to look a bit tired sole wise. This after my posh 5-10s lasted about 9 months!

Reverbs are £100 from Stifs ebay shop but they're unreliable rubbish so the money is better spent on whatever the brand x dropper is currently called.

My ride concept shoes have arrived and they’re brilliant. The orange is also actually nice rather than the garish colour on the website shows them as. Well pleased.

Sorry Alex, i'm usually a 10.5 and went 11, they fit lovely. So much so i've ordered more and thrown away 2 pairs of 5Tens. They're super comfy on and off the bike. Feel warmer too and i'm hoping soak up water less than the 5ten. I'm really happy with mine.

My all-weather iXS trousers from Sports Pursuit turned up on the weekend and I took them for a ride yesterday.

In one word, 'Horrible'. They've got these weird vents on the side that are not waterproof, but to be able to nicely fit my thighs in I HAD to undo them. So if you've got ridiculously large thighs like me, they're definitely not the best choice.

I can confirm that they are nicely waterproof in all the areas that matter, unfortunately they squeak like mad. If I was buying again I'd probably buy ANYTHING else.

I've had a few rides on the Powerlines, which were linked here a few weeks ago.

Great shoes, bit higher on the ankle than the Hellions (also good). Good grip, slightly less sticky than 5:10s but that suits me a lot of the time.

My experience is if you're usually a 10 in trainers, get the 11 in RC shoes.

Well, mine turned up the other day, and I didn't even get to the ride bit. I've always been impressed with IXS kit in the past, but these are a bit shit. They appear to have been made for someone who is round of belly, short of leg, and has chicken calves. (And I certainly don't have tree trunks for legs).

So, if Humpty Dumpty is after new trews then crack on, but for anyone else, I really wouldn't bother. They're going straight back, along with my son's ones that are equally odd.

Just going to have to teach into my wallet and buy some more excellent TLD ones.

Ordered a pair of RC powerlines on that deal.

I was stunned when they appeared today, 24 hours later 😯

Feel like I woke up in an alternate universe tbh.

need some more protein powder or vitamins?

go on vouchercodes (signin) and get a 10% code for myprotein and today only a £20 amazon voucher for a £50 spend,

on myprotein website they have an offer of £10 off £60 spend.

Read the rules, web only, and no other codes to be used, voucher issued within 30 days.

i've not used vouchercodes in ages but it always worked well when they had 3x £20 spend in a week for a £5 voucher. i used to place a few at tredz/wiggle/crc and get them all the time..

clearly not worth the effort for some. but sure someone will take it

Just ordered some Roval Control from Tredz. They work out at £333 for the pair after the current 10% and Topcashback. They're only 27mm and the Freehub is the wrong one but being DT 350, the MS one should be easy to source.

I don't know much about those wheels but they seem really good value to upgrade my Ratchet LN M1900s which are some 400g heavier on paper.

When you do source the MS one make sure you get an end cap as they are not easy to get separately (don't think DT sells them as separates). Also if using eBay be careful as there is atleast one seller selling fakes that physically fit but leave a hub >148mm wide. Sadly eBay decided to remove my feedback on that seller!

Thanks Nixie. I think I have spotted the seller selling fakes. Good point nonetheless. Wondering if I should just get a GX cassette although I have a XT cassette now so maybe shifting won't be as sharp?

I know some here don't want to give Sports Direct any money...

I'll avoid in the future, for sure. After my parcel lost 2 of 3 items somewhere between picking and delivery, it took them towards 3 weeks to come up with precisely nothing, except for first line support apologising for the delay.

I raised a Paypal issue against them, easily done, and 2 days later SD admitted the evidence and are refunding.

I'm tempted by those forks, but can anyone who knows more about the Sid range confirm my searching and that they're a 2021 model (and so predate the update with better bushing overlap)?

Yes, they’re the older model without the improved bushing overlap.

It appears the Bike Tart Rockshox SID Ultimate C1 is the older version. And after some research I've discovered they have known issues of "bushings play".
Can anyone confirm this is correct and whther ethey are still worth buying?.

Between myself and 2 guys I ride with we've had 4 of that generation of SID. Theirs got absolutely hammered, and mine is almost 5 years old. No bushing play. It's likely you'll be just fine. Not the smoothest fork though, apparently the latest model is better in this regard.

They're still doing 4 sets of finned pads for £9.90 too when you use the code FINNED

I bought a pack of the sintered a while having not used SS pads for years. I've been impressed so far, they've lasted really well on the back of my Rise through the winter grit.

You get one set (2 pairs) of finned thingies and 8 pads (4 pairs) in each pack. That's less then £2.50 per pair of pads!
