At 187cm I ordered the large in green. Surprisingly roomy even at my height/girth.

Order processing definitely slower but not surprising. Last order I placed was Monday last week is despatched but not yet showing with EVRI.

Bargain Hope test turned up today, thanks for the heads up @drewd.

So, are we starting a new thread for the pro5 freehub swap shop? 😀 Anyone with a Microspline after an XD?

It does: https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/nukeproof-megawatt-297-comp-alloy-bike-advent-x. The GX model at same price appears to have sold out. That's a lot of bike for £1800.

That XT shifter is a LEFT HAND shifter, i.e. 2x, not 12x.

https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/vitus-rapide-fs-crx-mountain-bike

only XL left.

with EXTRA10 takes it to £1800.

I'm really really struggling not to buy one. I think my wfe would kill me.

You could sell all the bits for more than that bike is costing. Mine was 2.4k, 1800 is just nuts

I've been watching those Rapide FS for a while and was hoping size L was going to drop again after the weekend.  Sunday morning though and a couple sold overnight so only 1 left.... so I bought the last one at £2025 plus delivery after code.

Absolute bargain - a heck of a lot of bike for the money.  Just compare against what NS sell the synonym at let alone what other manufacturers are selling carbon frame/rims, SID Ultimate, decent kit and brakes, SRAM AXS... wow.

I pulled forward a longer term bike purchase as I can't see anything touching that in value for a long time.

I think those gigas are a bit snappy...so I'd exercise caution.

Don't take my word for it by any means - Google it.

I know there are some fantastic deals out there but id be reluctant to drop good money on a Nukeproof  when they have called it a day  ..no back up  ..Buying for parts to swap over is one thing but Ive known a few friend having to return and pray for replacement frames due to  snappage ..

Was having this discussion about nukeproof and vitus bikes earlier  , would it be possible to charge back on a section 75 if it breaks assuming you’ve bought on a credit card

Agreed @stevedoc. I bought a vitus before Xmas but it was with the full knowledge that I may be left with a support problem. The parts were worth way more than what I paid for the whole bike though.

I am kind of considering buying another full bike to sell all the parts and get a spare frame almost for free. A lot of faff and risk though.

If someone could buy all the XXL megas left then I'd really appreciate it so I can stop thinking about it!

Pretty sure that there's a time limit on a section 75 charge back - 3 or 6 months? Something like that. You'd also need the agreement by your card supplier that the item was faulty at the point of purchase iirc.

Brand X 12 speed HG cassettes

£20 for an 11-52 and a £25 for an 11-50

Less 10% discount

Plus the extra crap you don’t need but makes its way into your basket anyway

You always see people discuss section 75 but I've never seen anyone discuss using it and wether it was successful or not. I'd assume it isn't as clear cut as some people think.

Bugger, the OH just told me that if i can condense to having 2 bikes from my 3, Its up to me.

So, my large carbonda 936 i found a little bobby and a little short, despite the vitus size guide saying up to 190cm height. And im 188 ish.

So maybe the xl and a stubby stem.

Damn long seat post though, however id not be using anythjng more than a 100mm dropper.

Still, bobby. Maybe.

Plus selling on a couple of bikes in this climate..:-/

hmm.

just an idea, pros/cons, its certainly not foolproof

section 75, must put in  a claim within 120 days. consumer rights act 2015.

the claim is you bought the bike believing it came with warranty, [trouble is i cant find warranty info for vitus or nukeproof bikes], Section 75 card protection: 5 things you need to watch out for - Which? News

you'd have to proof the fault was known/ present at time of purchase

"You have the same rights from your finance provider as you have against the retailer under this legislation."             Faulty product? How to get a refund, repair or replacement - Which?

If anyone is looking for an outdoors coat, some of the Fohn Down jackets were reduced again yesterday, most of them seem to be 70% off now and the extra10 code still works, so you can get a synthetic down jacket for £32, or a bonded down jacket for about £63.

The OH went for one of the long down jackets, and the also have longer waterproof parka's for the ladies as well - Will hopefully arrive in time for Mothers day.......

Do you know what the sizing is like? True to size or not?

Also, there's a Föhn Polartec waterproof outdoor jacket going now for £70 - minus the extra10 I guess, so £63 - which is made from Polartec NeoShell, which is almost certainly still the most breathable waterproof fabric out there and a very good call if you run on the hot side of the physiological scale and find most waterproof stuff way too sweaty.

I have no idea on fit and features, but the spec looks pretty reasonable on paper. It's a really good fabric, arguably more angled towards breathability than outright waterproofing. For perspective, I have a bike jacket made from the stuff which I'd say is as breathable as most windproofs I've used.

I've been looking at that Fohn jacket - I've already got a cheaper waterproof Fohn shell and the fit is brilliant for me, so I''m very tempted: https://www.wiggle.com/p/fohn-mens-mountain-polartec-waterproof-jacket-2-0?color=mood-indigo

I just took delivery of a Fohn merino hoodie. Very pleased with it for £32. I'm usually a XL, but I went XXL for the hoodie so I can layer up and it's a comfortable, baggy fit over my chunky (183cm / 110kg), frame.
