Boring. What a missed opportunity. Might watch again if Vicky P is in an hour long Lycra feature!

Thought it was ok, mtb bit was bit boring but otherwise good. Bikes to work guy is a great bit of advocacy.

I could be better with more pro production and maybe a cockish presenter ala top gear but then it would have a cockish presenter ala top gear.

It was pretty poor imho. My interest picked up with the lady and the broken wrist talking about Victoria Pendleton - looks like I have to wait until the Belfast episode to see if my thoughts equal reality!

Overall, not bad. It would be good to get a bit more depth on some topics.

The Matt Stephens bike review is cringeworthy..... Awful soft focus camera work with lots of blabbering and impressive words for seat, handlebars, gears, wheels....

Does anyone seriously spend £9K on a road bike, unless they are at least semi-pro, at which point you ride what you are given. e.g. Genesis steel frame.

Ditch the bike-porn and maybe do a proper review of something people might ride or be interested in buying.

That aside, I think the format is heading in the right direction.

It is a big, wide audience to please.

OK, Show saved by the C2W guy, that was good, honest, and genuine.

+15
If a person new to cycling went to a bike shop and said i need a 3000 to 9000 quid bike theyd be treated like a king, the most pintless road test ever shown on tv, and why not a proper explanation of cycle to work schemes.

Tonights show about as exciting as watching the skin form on a bowl of rice pudding. A poor effort and disjointed, poor sound as per usual and such a slow presenter.

poor sound as per usual

sounded fine to me, is your TV/Hearing ok? at least there wasn't constant chatter from the cafe customers this time

I watched it with my brother and both of us enjoyed it. Dowsett came across as a legend as did mb, both were interesting interviews

It's a show for the masses so will never please everyone, a bit like top gear. Watch it for the good bits (dowsett) and ignore the bad bits (reviews). Better than corrie!

Just a few stuffed dummies and a small child looking bored behind the talkers, sound went up and down

The silly expensive bike review is a criticism that could easily be made of top gear with their constant super car obsession... although at least they'd have squeezed a bit of toilet humour in... Didn't help me at all though as I ponder whether to join the dak side or not.

Downhill section was a bit disappointing considering how popular it is (for mtb, admittedly road biking is massively more so). Shame not to have a brief clip of Warner in full flow too!

The c2w guy was good and I'm sure struck a chord with a lot of people - me included - but I can't help thinking it's preaching to the converted a bit? Surely there can't be many people watching who don't have a bike already? But yeah, fair play to him and if he inspires a few more people to follow the same path, it's well worth it.

Also a bit odd that after building up to the 'can they beat a mountainbiker' finale including having a leaderboard they didn't even bother comparing times afterwards!

Still, I'll probably watch again.

true, but Top gear would say whether one car worth a hefty lump more than another is actually worth the money. They would say if the fact it has this engine, and these breaks, is good, though to his credit a little bit of emotion came through on the electronic shifting, but not much. Often they say they wouldn't bother with the extra spend, too many nobs and twiddles etc.

In their defence harder to do a review to camera cycling than driving on a private track.

I think its come on, and my criticism is only because I think there is a good show in there somewhere, getting ever closer. The overall structure was better, getting out of London is a great idea, coming to Yorkshire given the Tour next year is great. End of the day they have to a straddle a very difficult line trying to please enthusiasts and mildly interested hobbyists alike. Getting there. I will be watching next week.

Missed it.

why did they show it on a rest day from The Tour, didn't it used to follow a stage so that numpties like me didn't miss it?

It is worth loosing 30 minutes of my life watching it on catch up?

Coincidence. It's not scheduled specifically on Tour race days - it's 8 episodes on Monday nights.
If you want to watch the Tour may I suggest the highlights show at 7pm, also on ITV4 🙂

It inspired me.

I'm off to build a shed on the back of my car and stick a big ring on the bike. Hoping to crack 20mph... 🙂

I wanted to like the show, but it was cringeworthy from the outset.I think mostly because of the poor host and uninspiring studio bits with an uninterested audience in the background. I'd rather ride my bike than watch that again.

Thought it was ok. Watched the recording and fast-forwarded surprisingly little of it.
Main problem is that presenter fella. Not blessed with the greatest charisma is he.

The road bike reviews were fascinating: They're light, stiff and ride up hills quick! Who'd a thunk it?

I nearly didn't watch it because it was obviously going to be a roadie type thing, but as the alternative was the woman's pulp drama that is the usual fare in our household, I figured it couldn't be worse.

To me it was worthwhile because of the C2W guy, and the huge cog guy. I'll watch again next week.

Firstly it is really good that there is actually a one hour program about Cycling on main stream TV!

The program has got to address a very wide audience so I wouldn't expect all of the shows content to appeal to everyone.

The key is to get the balance between being interesting for more casual viewers to also having some depth for keener cyclists.

Overall it is worth a watch on Monday evening, or via catch up so you can fast forward the bits you are not interested in.

The bike porn has to go though!
