Anyone got/tried their foam grips https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/foamy-grips.htm ? Wondering if they are comparable in shock absorption to https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BTOOFLOG/on-one-half-bob-lock-on-foam-grips
Also, any feedback on https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/racer-saddle.htm ?
No experience of either but got some foam grips on the wifes bike not unlike the 'Half bob' ones and they seem to be pretty comfy.
Have used some Ritchey Pork Rinds in the past and they were pretty good.
Using the Silicon foam grips from Superstar at the mo and they are comfy but tear easily and are starting to lose grip a bit when wet so probably due for replacing.
I've got that saddle.
Very light, quite firm, was a bit too narrow for me and I went back to a Fizik Aliante.
If you like 'em narrow and firm, it might be a good buy.
Ordered some new grips for the kids bikes.
Every time that saddle is in a sale of theirs, I ponder, but then never buy... And it's happened again today!
Foam grips are a present, to hopefully reduce vibration a bit to a weak wrist, ended up buying Richeys from CRC for less than current price of the PX foams (which I've had on the Wazoo the past year).
Bagged up on tools yesterday, 50% off. 🙂
Sadly the Supergrippa and many of the other decent grips are effectively discontinued and grips aren't being restocked when the popular colours sell out. Same with their brake pads. They are no longer a priority or interest to them to sell.
Which pretty much has finished off Superstar for me as that's mainly what I used them for.
I thought, "I'll have some of those squidgy grips - in fact I'll have two pairs."
Ok, so I need to buy three pairs to get the 30% discount. No worries, I get a new pair every year for each bike so 3 pairs it is.
With the discount and postage to Europe: 60 Euros

Shout me if you're feeling regretful and want a very lightly used one then.
Got no idea how superstar have negotiated their european shipping, or who with...... it's comical enough that i don't even bother looking anymore! With the discount and postage to Europe: 60 Euros
I've got an old 130mm wide Specialized Toupe (Gel?), which I've tried on both bikes for brief spells this year, but I always ending up getting rid after a while. The width might be fine, it might be the padding/gel isn't in great condition after 10 years.
I've been contemplating that Racer Saddle and a carbon seatpost from PX for the Wazoo for a while now, besides potential comfort benefits, it would also reduce the total weight from ~700g to ~360g.
But the problem is there is other non-essential bike stuff I'm looking at... Like a smart turbo trainer, which could be a Tacx 2240 for £180 (plus a trainer tyre and X12 142mm trainer skewer), or an Elite Direto for £584+!
Too many non-essential things on the wish list, nothing like enough disposable income. 😆
