It turns out that as long as you clean the surface of the inner tube, you can fix punctures with a compeed plaster.
Very helpful if you're at the top of *that* Torridon descent and you're out of tubes/patches.

Nice bodge.
You'll have been grinning even more than most at the bottom. That would be a grim one to have to walk/push down.
