In case you're interested...

The Peak District National Park Authority would welcome peopleโ€™s views on its first management plan for four recreational trails used by thousands of walkers, cyclists and horse-riders each year.

A six-week public consultation on the draft five-year plan is now under way, and people have until September 17 to give their feedback on http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/news/current-news/have-your-say-on-draft-trails-management-plan

They are:
Monsal Trail, 8.5 miles from Bakewell to Wyedale, near Buxton.
Tissington Trail, 13 miles from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay, near Hartington
High Peak Trail, 10.5 miles from south of Buxton to Longcliffe, near Wirksworth
Thornhill Trail, a short two-mile stretch near the Upper Derwent Valley.

Are any of those 'trails' or are they all cycle paths (like Tissington?)

They're all former rail lines.

I use Thornhill a lot when riding around Ladybower/Derwent, just didn't know its name!

Looks like they want to improve Thornhill (and to a lesser extent High Peak) to a "[m]ix of trail surfaces for different abilities / more
technical sections" but they conclude (I assume for with respect to the trails in general:

The provision of more technical sections would be to the detriment of the conservation value of the trail verges and is not therefore considered appropriate.

That would be a mistake IMO
These are 'family' and multi use tracks, heavily trafficked by people who generally have less cycling experience or let's say 'spacial awareness' putting in some 'features' even basic ones would only cause conflicts and give a bad rep to any mountain bikers that may use them
We have plenty of riding in the area we don't need any provision on these trails, leave them for what they are, family routes for most
