Brand new although the spec is slightly changed. That's less then the frame cost originally for a well spec'ed bike.

Love mine and have forwarded that link to a couple of mates who have ridden and enjoyed mine. I'd be gutted at that price drop.

If I had any intention of selling mine.
And
If I hadn't got mine for a price not too far from that 😀

Not shit, but clearly didn't sell that well. I guess, if you want an XC 29er, you don't naturally think of Orange. It will be interesting to see whether the Segment fares any better.

How over lapping is the Five '14 and the Gyro? I'd quiet like a Gyro but don't want a bike that does the same thing..

They're not that similar according to those who have ridden both (Not me btw). The Gyro's more XC I believe.

I think the Gyro suffered badly from the trend towards long and low everything, hence the Segment. Probably came along a year or two too late although it must have shifted a few as it was on sale for 3 years and spawned the Alpine 5 and Segment.

Phew!

Nope, it's when the bigwigs give emselves an extra million for their year's hard work and we get a few tins of baked beans and a Twix.

Amazing deal. I bought a Gyro frame only about six months ago. For £750, I thought that was a bargain! Brilliant bike. I've built it up more XC (Apart from the dropper :))and it's a hoot. I ride mainly in the Lake District. I enjoy the ups more than most people, it always surprises me how well it climbs. I also find it really good in the air. And I'm rubbish at jumping, I wasn't expecting that. I'm a single pivot convert.

And all they had to do was reduce the price by £1,700 - weird eh?

FWIW, I found a dropper post really made a big difference to how much you could push the bike. Probably more than any other bike I've ridden.

granny_ring - as you've asked twice 🙂

They're not especially light. My large is a frame only build with fairly average parts (flows on Hope, reverb, X0 gears and SLX brakes, Thomson finishing bits and Manitou Towers) is around 30lbs I'd guess. Not weighed it and have no intention of doing so.

Heavier than the 130 mm 26" Nicolai I had before it but much much faster.

My frame cost me 850 Euros in February so I reckon mine still cost me a little less than the clearance ones 8) .
