A good PSA but....

You guy know you can make these out of an old inner tube and a couple of zipties for nowt, right??

And it probably only takes as long to make as it would to get to your nearest store.

For 4 quid it was well worth it IMO. However I just got a call from someone at my local Halfrauds - apparently they haven't stocked these for a long time.

Expect phone calls/emails folks!

Sure, but people use neoguards instead of innertubes for the same reason they use muckynutz fenders instead of bits of cut up milk bottle.

Saying that though, actually I do use cut up milk bottle 😆

+1

Better yet you can make a reasonable Mucky-Nutz knock off out of an old Celebrations or Quality street tub and some Zip ties (what with it being post Christmas and all)...

I've just popped into my local store & bought the last 2, I'll never use them, so if anyone wants one, or two let me know, £5 each + whatever the P&P is

I use a cut up milk bottle too 😀

Yeah yeah yeah. We all know you used reserve + collect and quidco so you're just looking to make a tidy £1.12 profit per item 😆

Unable to order one to collect but had seen some in local store a few weeks ago. Popped in today and asked about them and they said they were out of stock - somebody reserved both last night and collected this morning.

However, the guy said he was off to another branch on Monday that had some in stock and he would get one for me at £4. Result if it comes off.

Total waste of time this evening, got lost trying to find the store in Rochdale, Halfords own website has the store marked half a mile from where it actually is. Got there, gave the guy behind the bike hut counter the reservation number, a minute or so of silence followed by 'the orders been cancelled' not by me. Oh, only a manager can do that so he disappears out back to find out. Five minutes later he wanders back, we haven't got any, a member of staff tried to ring you. No they didn't, no missed calls, no messages and my phone was on my desk all day with good reception. They also had the correct number as they had sent a text as well as an email confirming my reservation. So directions to store wrong, stock control useless, lied to me and the guy behind the counter wasn't exactly sparkling. No wonder high street chains are going bust. Back to the LBS for me.

It's possible this is the reason. I just saw the cans and the price, didn't read the small print and it was put through at £2.49.

Just did a 15 mile trip to pick my 2 reserved neoguards up. After waiting for 10 minutes while the young lad went to look for them...

"Sorry, we phoned you yesterday to tell you we didn't have them"
"err... no you didn't, BTW your pants are on fire."

🙁
