Just got an email from Amazon that the Garmin Edge 1000 is now 279 from 499. I just bought a Wahoo so missed the boat.

Decent price, although the full price is never 499, you can get a 1030 for that! 1000 is getting on a bit now and I suspect this is going to be the standard "clearance price" from now on. I've always got on really well with Garmin hardware, may be tempted to look elsewhere for my next one though & see if I can get something that isn't hobbled by shitebag software!!

Yes it's the software that did it for me and made me plump with the Wahoo.
