Ah ok so the mental strong ebike version in 29 at only a couple hundred grams extra isn’t too bad then.

Enjoy!

Hello all,
I ordered two sets of forks, all genuine and arrived packaged well.
650b 120mm grip performance black stantions plain lower.
29er 130mm grip rythym boost gold stantions. Both came with fox book, clips for cable, but no star nut.

Have since also ordered 29er 130mm grip performance boost,as lighter than rythym plus black stantion and adjustable travel ( I think)
A great PSA , thanks.
Dave

Right. This maybe useful to some. I received this fork

34 Float 29" 130 Grip Perf 51 Off-Set Boost Federgabel 2017-Werk
and there's a bit of talk about changing travel options etc. so I thought I'd address it. Here goes:

Don't ask me why but I completely stripped it down tonight to work out what is possible. (I'm home alone and have had a few shandiess, what else am I going to do on "black eye Friday"?!).

Despite the stanchion showing almost 140 mm of exposed tube, this is a 130 mm fork - the air shaft only moves 130 mm.

The damper will do 170 mm but to achieve this, you'd have to move it to a 27.5 chassis because...

The full stanchion length is 310 mm but the base of the lower bush sits 155 mm from the top of the lip seal. So very maximum extension before you're screwing your bushes is 310 - 155 = 155 mm.

Therefore, in the 29er chassis, a 150 mm air shaft should work without smashing the crown into the seals. Anyone know the best place to buy one from?

My original idea was to transfer this damper into my pta O/C damped 34 Evolution 29er 150 mm fork but it's not an option as the chassis is very different and this grip damper would hit full extension before the air shaft hit its stops (not a good idea)...just in case anyone else has similar thoughts or comes across these ramblings in the future.

Hope that all makes sense!

and there’s me thinking I’m mad for taking the remote parts off the compression top cap to try and work out if a manual ‘lever’ will work instead!

Fair play for tearing down a brand new fork!

how much oil was in the lowers? always worth taking new rockshox apart as they barely put any oil in the lowers but have never had fox.

Ordered a couple of days ago and delivered today a set of longer forks for my hardtail.
Can’t wait to get them spaced down slightly and fitted.

Is the GRIP lever meant to have 3 positions like CTD I guess?

I think the grip is supposed to be a bit like CTD but infinitely adjustable between open and closed

Can't decide between a set of Rhythms and the Performance 130s. The all black look appeals to the tart in me and I might want to adjust the travel at some point, but it seems a very similar fork for 1/3 more money.

I bought some 34-29 boost with the Grip damper for £270 posted. Ordered while a little tipsy and ended up opting for collection 🙂 They were great sorting it out - really easy to deal with.

Fitted them yesterday on the smuggler. I've never really felt the Yari they replaced was as good as I thought it should be. Even so not sure this is an upgrade. Looks great tho, lighter, feels plush (might need to buy some spacers) and damper is pretty intuitive.

Will try it out properly tomorrow. Great PSA tho as worse case I've a 'stock' fork for whatever I buy next or to try on the hardtail.

Anybody able to comment on how the e-bike forks ride (on a non e-bike)? I'm 15st suited and booted and wondered if they would be better than the rhythms.
