Saw this in the Grauniad this morning.

Spec looks very good indeed.

Air fork, 1x, Shimano discs, good looking frame.

Jamis Dakar

Apologies if posted elsewhere.

20% off Evans ebay at the moment (max £75 off), taking this down to £805.

It was a 'first look' bike on here a couple of weeks ago.
Apparently there's a review coming...

Meh on the fork.

It's the samemodel as my missus's Saracen

The Guardian review had me cringing - it read like a ebay listing for a BSO;
"dual suspension"
"front shock"
etc.

Meh on the fork.

It’s the samemodel as my missus’s Saracen

But what are you going to get that's better at that level? It's a proper RS rear shock which should work (which is where the cheap cheap full sus normally fail). Deore gearing.

Ride the fork into the ground and keep an eye open for a heavily discounted replacement rather than paying to get the Suntour serviced (and even then it would still go for a few quid on eBay).

Same (or similar) Raidon fork that's on the Voodoo Bizango and that reviews well. Would certainly do until a good deal comes up something better.

The article was terrible! But really pleasantly surprised by the price, spec and look of the bike at the end of it.

Hence meh. It's ok it works. It's bloody sticky though and would be the 1st thing to be swapped.

but for the money in my opinion better than a boss nut....

As the frames sooo much nicer.

Was in Evans in Glasgow today and shocked to see how nice the trek roscoe 7 is for £870. It evens comes with a dropper. I did see the Jamis and it does look nice , the thing is what you would get for that second hand is unreal. I got a 2017 remedy 7 for £950 all upgraded .
