^ As an alternative, just add some tequila, lime juice, triple sec and lime to your water bottle. Bit of salt as an electrolyte. This thread has reappeared at an opportune time. Lets see what they are like. Thanks Robbo

Outstanding, managed to resist until they added Ginger Ale in.
Just watch out, I think the black cherry ones are caffeinated whilst the others aren't.

Well, I wasn't sure about the Margarita flavour but they're great. At five quid a box I'll cope :o)
Only ginger and mountain berry left when the ordered earlier.
You can also spend large amounts of money at Merlin and get them for free. Possibly not the most economical way to get them but a welcome surprise in the bottom of the box.
Missed the boat again! Apparently only 1 pack of mountain berry and the minimum order is two 😭

Must confess I've been enjoying my Margarita Citrus as off the bike sweets (although I did eat half a pack before Tuesday's Zwift MTB race), reminds me of raiding the cupboard to eat jelly cube packs as a kid decades ago!

As a fellow knackered pancreas owner, they are really good for hypos. Not sure about the caffeinated ones in the middle of the night though. I use them for long rides too, easy to have a block every half hour or so to keep sugar topped up.
Ooft, I'm gonna end up giving lots of these away to mates! Hope they last well beyond the BB date...

This is why I bought them. Pushing glucose tabs into my son on rides gets very tiring (for him) very quickly.

I am not entirely convinced I need this sort of thing for the kind of riding I do, but they are quite useful to have in a pocket on a long ride as a psychological boost at the very least.

Worth trying on the morning workouts. They might not make a difference to the workout itself but you wont be as depleted afterwards which might aid faster recovery.
2 boxes arrived today; Mountain Berry ones have "use by" date of 4 March 2021, but the date on the Ginger Ale ones suggest i need to use them in the next 20 days (22 Feb 2021)!
Haven't managed to get out on the bike for ages either, so its going take some time to get through them. Hope the dates are more "best before" than "use by"...😏
I really like them and use them mainly for my long distance ultra runs as I struggle with what to eat, so they work well for me.

I rarely eat energy gels / shot bloks that are actually in date.
Only recently polished off some gels BBE 2017. I'm still alive, but one had gone a bit lumpy.
These will keep me going for another year or so and may inspire me to get some longer rides in while it's still winter.
Just as an extra to this and a related PSA: The Lidl store near me is selling SIS gels (boxes of 6) for £3-99, however it's also 2 boxes for £6...bargain!
They have had them in a while now and no one seems to be buying them...except me, I'm stocking up 🙂
