From Rutland Cycling here, apparently they've bought up the rest of the UK stock and are the only place likely to put them on offer.
Ordered myself a shiny new 2011 ASR-5 for £1249!
Will they get the full yeti warranty? don't fancy falling foul of the same issues that CRC had with their cut price yeti frames.
Dave
5 Years as far as I know?
Evolution dumping their stock to rutland now they are'nt the importers anymore.
More than likely :]
Either way, they were very helpful/friendly over the phone.
I was hoping there might have been a discounted big top 29er there but no such joy
Really wish I'd not seen this!
argh... i've been wanting an asr5 for ages.
I should buy one. I really should.
argh!!!
Same dilemma here with the asr5-c. Almost giving them away at that price!
I've emailed Yeti to find out if they will support the warranty.
Hopefully they'll say no, and then I won't buy one. (sorry chojin)

go on now...
Excellent bikes.
Alfabus - I'd love to know the outcome!! I've bought one regardless 🙂
Only because I managed to wangle 0% finance with it too! (by paying the fee they're normally charged)
I too hope there is no warranty for the sake of my bank account!
On a slightly seperate note, does anyone have a pic of a white asr5 with black fox forks?
Ooo how much was that?
£79 - I thought meh... What the hell, it's still cheap :]
Wish I hadn't seen this thread 🙁
...although shame no medium black anodised ASR-5 left
Anyone know if you can specify 12mm x 142mm thru axle dropouts over 135mm QR?
You can get the kits from Rutland, but they're extra

Rocky Mountain Cyles have (a white/large) ASR-5 on offer at £1200?

Rocky Mountain Cyles have (a white/large) ASR-5 on offer at £1200? here
Congratulations, you win 10 points!
I can't quite work out if you're taking the p**s?
Hi All
just to confirm for all
2 years on downhill and jump frames
2 years on ASR-7s fitted with 180mm forks
5 years on the rest.
just to confirm for all
In what capacity (other then 'a bloke on a forum') are you confirming that?

Very official.
The above post is correct. These frames were proper UK imports with Evolution. As Silverfish are taking on distribution they are happy to honor the standard Yeti warranties.

🙁
They're still not what I would call cheap.
Thanks Dom.
I emailed Yeti yesterday to ask them; I'll post the reply here when/if I receive it.
Dave
5yrs from yeti (12 months from Rutland)
Just on the phone with Rutland now
The warranty would have been a useful excuse for me to avoid buying one.
My main problem is that I've got a 575 (old shape), and an ASR 5 doesn't seem 'different enough'.
My 575 is built quite burly; so maybe I should lighten it up to make it more XC usable... then I could get something bigger and cheaper for bigger UK stuff and the alps.
Hmm..
Dave
Your right grum about them not being that cheap considering I bought mine at the start of the year for £1300 and that was the 2011 frame so would expect a little more discount as you would be looking at the 2012 frames this time of year. Something around £1000 would be more like it.
What are the differences in the 2011 and 2012 frames?
so as a tapered headset noob, would I need to buy tapered steerer forks or is there a magical adapter available use use standard 1 1/8?
druidh... the only changes I have spotted are colours. also not sure if the 2011 had a dropper post guide, which the 2012 appears to.
bigjim... you can use a step down crown race, or a special lower headset cup.
oh for god's sake can the mods please remove this thread - it has runied my day. I had just about talked myself out of this as I would have needed a tapered fork!
bigjim in the same boat as you. There are tapered headsets to fit which you then fit an adapter as the crown which allows 1 1/8 forks to be used. Hope do them in their "pick and mix" range
Oh no, I was hoping the prospect of having to buy new forks would stop the temptation... hopefully there aren't any frame sizes suitable for someone just under 6'5"...
Bigjim - it's called "large" and unfortuately they have lots in stock :]
I was in the same boat with the tapered headset/1 1/8 steerer, but rutland are fitting a mix n' match Hope headset for me which will allow me to use my standard 1 1/8 forks.
Rather annoyingly, everything else should just swap straight over from my old frame... just when i was looking for an excuse not to buy!
If anyone is really not buying one because they have 1.125" forks and these frames have a taper headtube, I have a Hope lower cup and race that will fit the bill nicely. Only £15 too.
There you go, no reason not to buy one now.
Oh dear. I really want an ASR5 now. I have been saying to myself I'm not getting any younger and I might as well get my dream bike whilst I can still enjoy it properly. I really wanted to get it from the Bike Chain in Edinburgh if I did though.... cash v conscience....
bigjim - Mark is a realist....
ASR5's are tremendous. Get one.
The Bike Chain are great too, especially if you could find a discount code somewhere...
