Hmm - specifies "rear" - any reason I can't stick on on the front?

afaik it would be simply a change of adaptor mount.

HG - yes. Last ones I got came with both R and F mount, it's implied these won't of course.

Will these be compatible with std v brake levers?

Why wouldn't they work with standard v levers? Is one version shorter pull length than the other?

the road ones use the shorter cable pull of road sti's or older canti leveres.

The MTB ones use the longer pull of v-brake levers.

IS 160mm rear as on CRC will fit post mount front 160mm, or will mount on the front with the IS adaptor & use a 180mm disc in most cases (there may be, in some cases adaptor-fork clashes)
