I went in hoping to get shoes: http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/2827_11210.htm - but there were none. Just the usual cycling scruff buying generic yellow clothes.

Cheers, al.

That's how you can tell they're cycling gloves.

Me too. Although I came away with a fair bit of other stuff anyway. I asked and apparently the shoes were all pulled for some issue. They did say what the issue was, but I'd stopped listening by then.

Perhaps they hadn't been sprayed with the essential Aldi "essence of urine" ?

Hitler just never gets old.

I reckon most of the large of everything got sold out before lunchtime, managed to resist the bibs.

Shame about the shoes will have to stick with the Lidl anvils.

I didn't miss out on anything..........

...as I didn't waste any of my life looking for cheap, crap, biking tat in a shop full of scrubbers.

(prior to getting really offended and spouting off; yes I'm fully aware some decent folk shop there, however my local Aldi experience stretches to the Chesterfield branch and I vowed never to walk in one ever again. There was **** all that I wanted (and this was food shopping) and it was full of scrubbers)

Got a HRM for £12.99, nothing flash but it has a zone alarm and records current and peak rate. My resting rate is apparently 41 although that seems a bit low?

managed to resist the bibs.

Good call. I made the mistake of buying a pair of the bib-tights and they are shite. The pad on them is HUGE and fits terribly - although the way it bulged out in the front as soon as I bent in the middle may well help with the ladies. I rode home in them last night and vowed never to wear them again.

The shirts however are quite nice, kind of wish I'd bought 2.

SWMBO got me a couple of pairs of the winter gloves and an HRM. She said most of the stuff was gone otherwise I'd have liked a pair of the shoes as well.

I got a set of 4 reflective arm / leg band things with the flashing red LEDs on for £3.99. I wore 2 of them last night (couldn't face the prospect of 4...) and combined with my DX light must have looked like a christmas tree.

I didn't get knocked off the bike, but I did get shouted at much more by chavs than I normally do when I'm in daytime chav-radar avoidance dark colours. Not sure what's worse...

🙂
