I know SS wheels seem to get a mixed reception, but there are some good deals. If it wasn't for the fact that I run 11spd 105 on my CX bike I would have been tempted by a set of the Alex supercomps at £138 and 1550g... Code is SANTA13...

I bought a set of their carbon am wheels when they did 25% off in their black friday sales last month, they seem pretty good, and quite light at 1670g (actual weight) for the 650b wheels.

Will see how they fare over a few months of rocky peak district trails, On my old bike I had some light bike carbon AM rims , but I cracked the rear after a couple of months.

What would people recommend for a 29er xc bike? (10 speed).

Braw, ordered the 650b Pacenti DL31 wheelset for £128. Time for some budget 650b+ experimentation...

I had a pair of superstar wheels on my old Soul and they were fine, no issues with hub bearings or build quality.

I'm after some wheels for a new build but wasn't ready to buy them yet.. 25% is to good to turn down though!

Damn you superstar and OP!

What's your budget?

I've had a fair few wheelsets from them when they do these mad deals over the last few years and by far the most impressive £ for lb have been the current Tech 4 wheelsets.

I have the DS25 rims but they do 23mm and 21mm internal versions too, so possibly one of those?

I realize this might be a dumb question...............but would a rear 135x12 hub/axle work in standard QR dropouts ? (Bike is a 2010 stumpy)?

Dont think so.

135 x 10 is standard rear dropout.

Alex supercomps at £138 and 1550g...

Has anyone tried these? Seem incredibly light - if thats accurate - can they take any abuse or are they just spaghetti?

Thinking at this price they are too good to miss, would go onto a Whyte T129 but I'm not an especially brutal rider and they'd be nearly 800g lighter than the standard wheels.

I'm after just a rear CX/Tourer disc wheel for a future build - can anyone help me pick one off the Clearance List as I'm toiling to decipher the PDF...

Failing that which wheelset should I be looking at?
