Owen my son has been dying to get on his balance bike ever since I bought him it, but was too small for it up until a few weeks ago.
This is roughly his forth time riding it, he turned two in November.
He is on the red Specialized Hotwalk, followed by Harry his cousin who is 3 1/2.
Brill, we have a tiny trike (with trailer!) for our little girl's 1st bday at the weekend, I'll assemble it tomorrow. So looking forwards to it....
Great vid, how quickly did the little lads get free wheeling on their bikes? Was looking at the Hotwalk for my 3 1/2 yo boy not sure if he was ready yet.
Thanks.
As soon as Owen could fit on it (I had to cut an inch off the seatpost to get the saddle low enough) which was roughly a month ago (2 years and 3 months) it took him about 10 minutes before he was rolling down hills. Before this, for the past year, I had been pushing him around on it, jumping off the curb, doing manuals etc, to get him used to being on it which he loved.
Cool! We're going to get my son's first 'pedal bike' this weekend and I'm just as excited as when I picked up my last bike! He started on a Rothan and we're moving onto a CNOC.
arties- take a look at Islabikes too, they are highly recommended. My son was freewheeling by about 2 1/2 yo. It took him a few weeks to get to that point.
Harry is now pedaling his first proper bike which at the age of 3 and 1/2 is pretty cool. It just goes to show how good balance bikes are.
