This Sunday as the weather was nice I decided that I should go out for a ride with my family.
I dug some bikes out of the garage, with my wife on her old Trek with my 2 year old son in a seat on the back, me on my old Marin hack bike and my 4 year old daughter on her new (to her) Islabike CNOC 16.
Just the previous Friday my daughter was still unable to set off from standing without my holding the saddle while she balanced but a bit of practice on Saturday and she was able to set off by herself.
So we set off to the ‘local’ duck pond with some bread to feed the ducks, it was only about 2/3 of the way back from the aforementioned pond when my daughter started to mention that her legs were aching a bit.
It was at this point it suddenly dawned on me and my wife that the total ride distance was 6.5 miles!
My daughter made it home with just a little assistance from me on the last couple of climbs.
She certainly slept well last night 😀
