Four and a half, just over. Started him on the balance bike aged two and a bit, it's definitely the way to go. His mates who started on trikes and stabilisers are nowhere near as good as the ones who started out scooting balance bikes.
He'd probably have had cracked it last summer but for the small matter of a broken arm resulting from throwing himself down a hill slightly too enthusiastically on the balance bike. He's a bit too fearless for his own good...

Just started the boys on pedals after balance bikes, technique fine but I find their attention wanders and they swerve all over the place. Been channeling my Jedi training at them.
