Ha! Cheers guys but if I tried to ride off it I think I would have got off the mountain by the rescue helicopter!   🙂

I know. Tbh the Mrs even suggested it and she's one to normally say "Yeah yeah another one of your bikes on a mountain".

I'm still buzzing now! What a day!!

Ah... Finally conclusive proof of the awesomeness of fatbikes.

Awesome as a prop for walking to photogenic locations and awesome for riding across grassy meadows of a slight gradient while dragging the brakes.

There's a guy round here who takes his for swims in the river Tyne, makes the same Gopro videos over and over of his dull rides and chunters on endlessly about them. He'd probably agree with your definition of awesome.

O right thanks for that numb nuts.

I'm really glad you liked the effort and the photo.

And just to remind you of how 'shite' fat bikes are , I'll park this here:

*Lets hope my return to STW has not been spoilt by you...........

Geex, I know you are a newish member and the best form of defence is attack etc. on this forum sometimes... but why the sometimes very negative replies to completely innocuous topics?

Not looking to provoke an argument, it's just that on most topics you come across as a perfectly civil guy?

Anyway op, definitely a red letter day there! 👍

You should have done a third pic with you on the rock looking down and the bike on the rocks below with one of the wheels taken off.

Which way did you get up there?

And more importantly, which way did you get down? 🙂

Always look at the sheep tracks on the southern flanks of Elidir Fawr and reckon they'd go if you had the skills. Which I don't, btw.

He caught a fatbike rider bumming his dog.

I was there, I have the pics. He's understandably irate.

No long timer on my phone. Luckily a walker took the Cantilever pics for me. I did wonder how I'd get there in 10 seconds if no one was around!

Not sure what type of phone you have ..but on a Galaxy S7 ..you can frame your shot ..get in position and then shout "smile " and the camera will take it a few seconds later ..

Saying that you feel like a right tit if someone else catches you doing it ..😁

I'm glad some of you on here have already commented on geex's post. It is one of the most nasty and pointless I have seen on here in quite some time.

In the meantime, OP, those are fantastic shots! I don't have a fatbike myself, but I do have a 650b+, so I know a little something of your joy.

Keep posting!

Nice shots ST. I also used to enjoy your posts over on the fatvbike forum. I prefer the first shot myself. A bit less "in your face". But looks as though you had a great day out.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

I think GW may have even been bummed by the Scottish fatbike bloke and his dog at some point.

Though I'm not sure which one of them was at which end.

They may have even rung a bell and swapped ends at half time.

geex/GW has been busy making himself unpopular over on the emtb forum as well, haven't you Gary?

Shame as a lot of useful input, the memo about being fast and doing big jumps and "euro-tabling" not entitling you to act like a bit of a bell end seems to have been missed unfortunately.

Gary - I'm not a particular fatbike fan but each to their own and I love my new ebike, as you do, but there are plenty of haters around. So your post on emtb complaining about the hipster blanking you when he realised you were riding an ebike was comically ironic given your post above - irony being you said you were out for a ride with your mate on his new fatbike.....

Great job and pics too.

Never ceases to amaze me how some as*holes have to prove they are in a forum, sad really, perhaps we can all have a whip round to buy him a positivism course 😉

Anything with two wheels is good ... anything.

Keep up the cracking riding and the fat bike fun.

James

Ooof!

So up the main path from Capel and and then over to Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr?

We've a climbing club hut next to Dinorwic Quarry . Regularly ride up to Marchlyn  Mawr res but not had the balls to carry on over the shoulder of Elidir Fawr to Y Garn and up to the Glyders. We just descend the zig zag path back to Bus Stop  Quarry.

The footpath south east from Elidir Fawr skirts the head of the valley that heads down to Nant Perris before skirting Y Garn and heading over to Glyder Fach. I reckon the faint paths on the north side of that valley, below the summit of  Elidir Fawr emerging near Ceunant farm and Tyisaf campsite are rideable by the gifted.  The south side of the valley is a rocky trudge at the bottom end, although you'd probably enjoy it.  (Can't post Smileys but you get the idea).

The Quarry itself is huge fun too - plenty of bivvy spots up high, the security guards from the power station rarely venture above the main quarry path.

Do try this place if you get the chance,

http://www.lodge-dinorwig.co.uk/

It's a great local business that serves the best food and coffee for miles around. They have rooms too if you're feeling flush.

I'm more than a little embarrassed to admit this but when I first ventured into this thread I thought the cantilever pic was taken somewhere in the US!

What a magical little island we live on here and in a way it's still nice to be surprised by gems such as this I had no idea about. Might make my bucket too now OP.
