I fitted a Reverb to my Orange 5 in Jan of 2013. I do around 1,500 miles a year on this bike, mainly on the gritty bridleways of Surrey, although it has been as far North as Scotland and over to Belgium a few times. All weathers. In all this time I've not had it serviced, taken apart or indeed removed from the bike. There's no play in the head, and only now does it drop around 5mm when I sit on it. Kind of goes against all the stories on here.

You got one where all the tolerances happened to work out perfectly in sync with each other!

I’ve had 7 reverbs since 2013. Not had a problem with a single one (sold two bikes with them fitted, still got 5 of them).

XT M8000 brakes.

Worked perfectly for 2 years now. Bled once, only get that variable bite point thing when the pads are very low, saved going metal on metal I suppose.

So less that a year's use on each one ?
Problems always occur in the second year.....

I've had 3, only issue with 1 of them.

For me, KS Lev dropper seatpost, one of the original ones, must be 10+ years old, still going as well as day one (it gets regular maintenance which is easy to do at home but never had to replace anything apart from operating cable).

Yeah that’s the Adblock you’re using.

I don’t use one which is why they work on my iPad.

Ref the reverb thing. The two I had worked flawlessly for years. I only got rid because they were still on the bikes when sold. No idea why but I never transported or stored the bikes with the reverb compressed, never picked them up by the saddle with the post down, never rode for extended periods sitting down unless the post was up, and generally didn't sit on the bike like a sack of spuds, but unweighted the saddle over bumps and roots, even on a F/S.

Just about everything I’ve ever owned made by Shimano. I have 15-year old cranks, shifters and brakes still working like new and a ton of more recent stuff. Not had any of the calliper problems some have experienced, never worn through a hollowtech crank. Worst issue I have ever had was a freehub that ate itself after a couple of years hard use.

That’s me well and truly jinxed. 🙄

Time ATAC pedals. Only swapped out after 15+ years as there was a bit of play in the axles, and being so old no new bushes available any more.

A testament to a well designed product, very simple construction, quality materials.

2 and 4 year old ones were sold having no issues.

Of the ones I have left, there are 2x5 year olds, 2x 3 year olds and a 6 month old one.

My 18 month old Reverb works like new. Until I take it out in the cold (under about 10 degrees) when it sticks in whatever position until it gets back home to the warm. And then works like new again.

I’ve just read Guy Martin’s book where he writes about his Tour Divide ride in 2016. Guess what? His CB pedal fell off the axle! So he rode 75 miles to the nearest shop, with no pedal, and weirdly bought another set of Eggbeaters. He also went through three sets of cleats in 2800 miles. I understood that CB sorted their pedals out years ago - at least that what’s their apologists say.

Under lab conditions.....

CB Mallets - despite the haterz they just do the job and are under the feet of a good chunk of WC winners.
My Garmin Watch and 520, again just kind of work and do their thing

2011 Reverb. It's getting a little sloppy now. Chances are new bushes could keep it going another few years, but, honestly, I'm ready to just let it die now.

1st gen Zee rear mech. The clutch would die before you even had a chance to install it on a frame if some people were to be believed, but I must be lucky.

Crank Brothers Iodine 3 and Cobalt II carbon wheels from a couple of Mondraker Foxy's. I've never had a single issue, the bearings are still smooth and I've given them a lot of abuse. I kept the Iodines when I moved the first bike on, they're now on my HT. They've been no hassle whatsoever + tubeless is the easiest setup there is and they don't lose any noticeable pressure week to week.

Another Crank Bros fan here. Had their pedals (mainly candy's of various versions) on all my bikes for decades. Tried other brands but always come back to these. Cheap (or expensive if you want) easy to use and incredibly reliable.

Shimano square tapered bottom brackets.

Add in m520 SPD's, any Shimano shoes, shifters and chainsets.

Older Marzzochi and Fox open bath, simple damped forks. Give them fresh oil and seals occasionally, and they just won't die.

My Speedster meths stove. So simple, so light, just works. Why did I carry gas all these years?
