He's got a 'thing' for me.....I think it's a bit of a man crush tbh. I'm quite tasty
It's you who keeps coming back to my thread for more tho Raw-sack. 😉

I read an interview with Rob where he said it was completely different when it was covered by main stream TV. As soon as the TV trucks disappeared so did most of the cash.
whilst I don't douby peaty and a few international starts, I suspect when the camera's are waived around they resort to some of this: 😆
Average world tour road cyclist gets 264k euros according to the UCI. A neo-pro gets probably 50k which isn't really a bad salary when you consider that between training camps and races they'll probably be team supported for 100-150 days a year.
That's about 540 riders from 19 teams, so a total salary bill of around 142 million euros and that's only the world tour teams. Quite a bit of cash in that there road cycling.
Not bad at all. Do roadies have side-deals too?
I'd guess Spesh have paid Gwin £500k-plus - maybe double that - and given him the freedom to get separate deals too (which seems to be the reason he left Trek).
He's got to be worth more to them as an American.
Yep, road cyclists do seem to have side deals. Usually shoes and glasses and then some generic promo stuff that you'd see from any sportsperson/celeb
Changing the question slightly , I wonder how much more a pro roadies gets compared to a pro mountain biker. Obviously the big timers like Cav and Wiggins are easily on 5 times what Gwinn and Minaar are on. But compare Jonathon Tiernan Locke to say Danny Hart. ?

I would bet that they are on at least 20 times more...
A pro roadie will make front page of broadsheets if he wins a tour and be a household name, a pro DH racer won't even make front page of MTB magazines and no one outside the sport will know who he is....
Brook MacDonald's was selling his Mondraker race bike for $5k since Trek signed him.
Whatever, he doesn't wear gloves so good for him.

Edit: Don't know how I was allowed a duplicate post, sorry. ❓
Lance Armstrong was supposed to make over $1,000,000 from salary and sponsorship when he was riding for Cofidis (pre-cancer). SO I'm pretty sure top road cyclists make a lot more than MTBers.
We recently had a heap of fund raising (raffles etc.) to get one of the more promising young DH lads from Tassie to the WC circuit, Mountain Bike Australia put him on their Junior team but he still needs to fund it. Beer raffle was worth it.
If any of you lot spot Ben Hill in Ft William make him feel welcome!
