Sorry if this has been done before, but I can't dig out a definitive answer.
Can someone explain to me what tools and bearings I need to replace all the bearings on front AND rear pro2 hubs? Even better, if someone could send a link of where to buy them....
Cheers,
Dave
You could get away with non-specialist tools. I stripped my rear Pro 2 down on the weekend using nothing more than a socket set (to replace a broken axle). CRC will sell replacement bearings and seals and some specialist tools if you think you need them. Videos on Hope website. HTH
edit: you will need the correct tool (lock ring tool) for unscrewing the cassette, and a chain whip tool thing would be handy too
Required bearings
Front:
2 x S6804 2RS
Rear:
2 x S6803
2 x S61903
1 x S17287

One of the bearings in the Pro 2 evo rear is a custom size the 17287,, which explains why it's more expensive
Personnally most decent branded (INA,FAG,etc) bearings tend to cost £8 each, so both those prices seem reasonable to me.

Not cheap but I've given up on my sockets (minor bodging) due to damaging bearings o f late

If you want to buy the hope specific tools these should be all the ones you will need
Regular Pro2 kit to do front and rear (front pro2Evo is no different from the Pro2 apart from the laser etching)

Additional Pro2Evo rear bearing kit (think this must be for the free hub bearing)

Optional additional support bush (you can use a thick cardboard tube or a bit of wood with a hole drilled in it instead of this)

Thanks all. Very helpful
OK, I've bought the tools, bought some bearings and going to give this a go myself. Zippy & Rustymac, thanks for posting up and sharing your experience - saved me time and effort. Full report on 1st time hub servicing in due course........
Be prepared to hit things harder than you'd think you should
No worries Lucien
RD +1, and an extra hint is to place a spare bolt into the end of the axle before you hit it to drive out the bearings (so you damage the bolt head not the axle).
I need to do the bearings on my rear Pro 2 but my freehub is chewed up too. Do the replacement freehubs come with all the necessary bearings, drive and non-drive side?
Useful posts - thanks I didn't realise I needed new tools for the evolutions over the standard pro2 😳
