One of those here's my new bike, well actually not quite true; here's my Prince Albert built with all the components from my Genesis Abyss:

MOD: Image removed due to malware

On the weight side of things it's coming in at approx 31lbs (gulp), where as the Abyss was approx 29lbs, which makes sense as the PA frame weighed 5.5lbs and the Abyss 3.5lbs.

Anyway I was just wondering what other PA builds were coming in at weight wise??

got my 19.5 down to about 27 lbs, with 819/hope tubeless wheels, fox vanilla r 140s xt kit and ti bolts. Still a tough build though.

Not weighed mine yet (only just built) but expecting high 20s for a small frame, XT drivetrain, Fox F120 fork and Bonty wheels.

The fork might be an odd sounding choice I know, but it's what I've got and it'll keep the handling sharp ๐Ÿ™‚

Nah not that odd, I'm going to experiment with dropping the travel in mine down to 120mm.

That's pretty good, but like you say a tough build and probably a few pennies as well....

I'm not too worried about the weight, I haven't even ridden it properly; I'm interested in what kit people have used to get sub 30lbs.

One thought I did have, is that my fork is OEM and might well have a steel steerer, how much heavier that'd be over an ally one I don't know??

On old rusty dodgy spring balance / fishing type scales/balance I weighed mine at 27-28lbs:

Spec:
MK1 PA frame
Fox Float 140 forks
SLX drive train [xt cassette]
Avid Elixir R brakes [160rotors]
mavic Crossride wheels
2.25 Maxxis advantage tyres [tubeless]
bonty seat post
fsa 70mm stem
Funn fatboy 710mm wide bars
Charge spoon saddle

Was tough enough for high speed rocky dartmoor bridleways and HSD at Gawton and I think mid weight wheels and light fast[ish] tyres helped it feel spritely. Although was sadly taken apart last night for all kit to go onto a Pitch frame tonight!

Okay, so here's mine:-

28lbs according to my ropey fisherman's scale.

First ride was last night, pleased to find I've built enough bikes over the last few years that I can now get a new frame set up Just Right (tm) in the workshop with no trailside faffing required. Riding position is much like my old Soda, but it handles more like an Inbred, carving lines and stable at speed.

I have now owned bikes from Dialled, Cotic, On-One, Charge, Orange, an old steel Kona and a 90's Ridgeback which possibly counts as a Genesis so my STW bingo card is filling up ๐Ÿ™‚
