Seeing as the Independent offer on cheap pressure washers seem to have fallen through (out of stock for good apparently!) can anyone advise on a suitable cheap alternative?
Would this be any good for occasional bike cleaning?
- Argos Challenge Xtreme 1400W Pressure Washer (£29.99)
What about the Karcher ones? Seem to be a lot of models available, but how far up their range would I need to go to get something vaguely reliable?
Hose, bucket, brush, sponge, washing up liquid, half and hour. works every time.
doesn't cost £29.99...
Hi SusieG - im also keen on purchasing a washer so hoping for some 'constructive' suggestions from the STW folk.
Not very helpful, but I was given a JCB pressure washer by a friend, and it's awful. So don't get a JCB.

Not very far at all. I've got one of the cheapest Karcher (?) pressure washers and it is pretty damn good. That being said were I to buy one again I'd get one that would take cleaning fluids directly. They aren't cheap though, mine was about £130 but it is a good piece of kit with plenty of very useful attachments.
Get a Nilfisk they have metal pumps. Karcher models at low price points have plastic / nylon pumps. You won't get one for £29.99 though maybe double.
i got a green one (can remmeber name) but the hose connections are shite and keep breaking
Surprisingly, my Halfords one has been brilliant (HP2800) - but more than £30.
I got one of these from Argos, £80 with patio cleaner, and it works really well.

what are the manual pressure washers like?
Avoid karcher, it's well known that they are trading on their previous good reputation.
The stuff they knock out now doesn't cut it anymore.
Karcher has been poor. First day I had it the plastic holder for the lance cracked and then something happened internally and water just spews everywhere from the inside of it. I turned it off immediately and it has sat in my shed since. I would avoid Karcher if that is the quality!
