I've used Hope and Rotor in the past for a 30mm axle BB92* but when they need replacing I have to replace the whole unit, which isn't too bad as the Rotor is only £30.
Just wondering if anyone has made a unit with replaceable bearings?
My guess in a no, as there's no much room in there...
Wheels Mfg do a 30mm BB92 but it looks just like the Hope+Rotor ones i.e. non-replaceable.
*PF4130 if you need the code, for a RF cinch crank.
How wide is your BB shell - can you go to a hope external PF41? This has the screw together internals and bigger replaceable bearings.
I've managed this on one of my fatbikes, the other I'm stuck with internal like you.
Its a proprietary bearing - diameter is 41mm with a 30mm hole, leaving 5.5mm for the inner and outer race plus the bearing rollers. There's no conceivable way given the space available to do it any other way and why fitting 30mm spindle cranks in BB92 not really a practical idea. What does help is repacking with marine grease and sheilding the bearings from mucky water e.g. downtube and seattube guards.
