Long story short, was lucky enough to get a warranty frame replacement recently however new frame is PF30 and kindly the distributor said he had some adaptors to allow me to reinstall my current threaded BB, happy days ๐Ÿ˜€

However the frame turned up with adaptors already in and they need to be out as gear cables all run internally through BB

Have done a bit of googling and founds vids of fitting PF30 BB but none on removal, have had a look on Park Tools website but am still a bit confused on what I need for removal and refitting.

Would rather get the tools and do it myself as long as they aren't hugely expensive ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Assuming I will be able to reuse the adaptors?

Assuming its the same kind of press fit as bb30, I remove mine carefully with a flat head and a rubber mallet so that I dont damage the bearings too much and can reuse them.

You can buy removal tools, the park tool one for bb30 is ~30quid I think which put my off..

edit: after a 30 second google I found this,

seem pretty inclusive.

maximusmountain, I've found similar things but I don't think what I have has any bearings, it appears to just be a plastic? item which gives me a thread for my existing BB complete with bearings to screw into, not sure if that makes any difference though?

Id rather use a tool then to not dent the plastic to make sure the threads would be ok, you would also have to use a press to put it back again anyway. worth taking it to the lbs to get them to do it quickly?

The adapters are exactly that. They give you a conventional BB thread..

Whack them out gently! Screw in your bb cups and press the assemblies in with a headset press or similar.
