[#6824931]

I have a confounded press fit BB which has only lasted since May and is now scrap. I don't want to buy to Park tool for removing it because it is almost £40.

Is anyone either offering a cheap alternative or is there a home bodge for it? It's a PFBB30.

Thanks

Fsa make a drift for removal and then I used my headset press to re install.

The fsa drift is very cheap

Superstar one for £25? It's still more than seems reasonable but I've got the BB92 version and it works really well.

Might not be as nice as the Park tool one but it's not exactly a high-use item, though maybe a few times a year if all your BBs last like the one you're replacing 🙁

I will try and find the FSA one. I'm not too knowledgeable about press fit bbs, will the dridft take out the plastic casing too?

Euain- as per Al's post I won't buy from superstar because they are underhand, thieving, moral-lacking arseholes who pedal shoddy and dangerous goods with no conscience.

Mine are just sealed bearings...not sure what you mean by plastic casing..

I'm assuming he means the sram pf30 plastic cups. Yes the tool will take them out. I popped the bearings out and reused mine with a bit of loctite

Yes, it is a SRAM bearing with plastic cups. I have another BB that came with the frame that appears to be some bearings and some spacers.
