BB on my lapierre is needing changed, short of buying the correct tools any reasonable bodges to remove and refit?

whack out with a drift

refit with a headset press

Whack it out with a wooden drift and a mallet. Put ut back in with a gentle mallet and/or a length of threaded rod and 'wind' it in. That's what I do,

If you are anywhere near Leeds I have the tool to remove it that I will gladly lend to you (and a headset press to get the new one back in).

I was going to get the proper tool for removing mine, but they were out of stock at the time so as stated above just knocked it out with a drift. My home made h/set press fitted it no probs.
