Ok got some Fox Forks that I can either wet paint or get powder coated, anyone tried powder coating, if so what do I need to know, e.g. will it damage the bushes in the lowers.

Cheers, Geoff.

I would speak to a powder coater about the internals as they bake at 180c plus or alternatively, strip the forks right down to be save!
It would be better and harder wearing to have powder rather than wet paint!

It will ruin the bushings and you can remove the seals so they will be ok but if your taking them out you may as well replace with new. You will need new bushings pressed in and to have that done you might need to pay for a whole service.

Did you get them done? I'm looking at methods for doing this this week.

I've heard of aluminium car wheels cracking (i.e, falling apart) in use (allegedly) because of after market powder coating, and for that reason alone I'd be super cautious.
