Hey y'all.
Just got a call from the powdercoating place who are freshening up my old Blur and have been down to see at what they've found. They've chemically dipped the frame and have found a couple of pinholes in the downtube, they're very small and sharp edged.. look a bit like rock strike damage or something? Anyway, the guys have pointed me to a alloy specialist who does old cars for them filling in. The rest of the frame and swingarm are fine, no cracks and considering I've been round the Peaks, Scotland and Wales last year with it possibly like this it seems like it should be okay or am I gonna die??

I'd speak to Jungle about that. See what they say, unless it was second hand or out of warranty, but I'd still see what they say anyway.

Could be internal corrosion !

Does chemically dipping a frame do any damage to the metal itself or is the nasty stuff only strong enough to eat paint/powdercoat?

It's pretty common on Santa cruz's. I'm a powdercoater myself and every Santa cruz ive painted have had pin holes in em
