Looking for some advice please

Need to post a very expensive road frame set down to carbon bike works in leatherhead for a health check as there is some creaking

Plenty of couriers, parcel force will do it for 12 quid but the max value of insurance is 2.5k and that will cost me 250 return. Anything cheaper available as I’m not keen on it going missing in the post

dont appear to be any carbon specialists in the Scotland area so really need to post

thanks all

Whereabouts in Scotland? There's Magnafibre in Alloa:

- not used personally, but riding mate had his cracked Transition frame repaired by them and that bike sees proper use.

If posting, Paisley Freight are £39.99 plus whatever level of cover you want up to £5k: https://www.paisleyfreight.com/liability-cover (or same company but their bike delivery branded service: https://www.bikedelivery.co.uk/liability-cover). Example would be £85 for up to £3k posted all in, a lot cheaper than Parcelforce.

Secursus do 3rd party insurance for shipping at considerably more reasonable costs than the carriers do.

I've used Secursus quite a bit though have no experience of actually having to make a claim.

Make sure you get photos before you send and check the t's and c's

Are there not any private couriers you could use if it’s that expensive? The kind who collect your bike/motorbike in person and drive it there themselves

Is it worth asking who they use to send them back?
