Anyone done this recently?
Who did you use and how much did it cost?
I have did it last summer. I used the post office, just boxed it up and wandered into my local branch. From memory it cost about £20.
Not keen on RM with their record of destroying/selling shocks and forks.
That and the box is too bike according to their measurement recomendation thing.
go to your local shop that sells bikes on line and ask them to post ,a lot cheaper for a business account to post from a shop tracked £15!

i paid 40 quid on parcel monkey insured to 400 quid.
posting bikes is shit.
didnt trust them not to lose it to not have the insurance.
I sent one recently, the best I found was Paisley freight https://www.paisleyfreight.com
The main issue I found with couriers is the maximum length of the parcel, this wasnt an issue with paisley and they were competative on price too

get a free bike box from halfords.
Another vote for Paisley, must have sent around 10 bikes with them now and no issues
25 quid with paisley freight. So if it goes wrong your taking the hit for anything above 75 quid.

Put in in a bike box and take it to the post office . 20 pounds ish then add whatever insurance you feel you need .i am amazed by how many people are put off using the post office by that 1 incident . I work in a bike shop and we send lots of stuff by Royal Mail and over 8 years have never had a problem .and all of that stuff is going from the Isle of Man to mainland uk .
(this is posting to me btw 🙂 ) It's £900 worth so no chance I'm winging it on insurance.
Just tried parcel2go and got £90 with insurance, parcelforce. Parcelmonkey seem a lot cheaper but I think their restrictions are sufficiently vague that shocks might be an issue...
