Just more will do - I am dreaming of having to use sunglasses and experience dust at some point
get back the quantocks
Col du Galibier
Well, I'm going to be off the bike for a few months in 2013. I'll be VERY happy when I just manage to have a little pootle around Sandringham. ๐
Rachel
An impressive list.
I'll be happy if I do the Fred Whitton and the Alp d'Huez on the road bike.
And just ride my mountain bike, even if its just round the NF Trail.
just to keep getting out, pootles on or off road.
and hopefully get to ride with some likeminded folk in place i aint ridden before.
been off the bike for a while and went for first ride in 2 months today!! so now im all inspired again ๐
like to do snowdon again this year - last year we did it in febuary and it was like summer! so lucky ๐
love to go to france for the passoportes du soliel again this year, but with just having had our first child im not sure il get a pass for that ๐
scotland - some trail centers and natural stuff would be good
other than that, just need/want to get on bike regular again and regain my fitness, would be nice to enter a couple of events of some description, but we will see.
jon
Burnside trails in the dry
More Skye/Torridon
More Lakes
Somewhere outside the PDS in the Alps
Some big road rides.
Once I've finished my exams at the end of June, I've got approx 10 weeks to go pretty much wherever I like, but a lot of my riding will depend on the weather. Plan to:
Go up to Scotland for a while and ride most of the 7 Stanes
Laggan
Fort Bill red
Aviemore (the trails in the Monday morning debrief)
Cairngorm
Lakes
Calderdale
Snowdon
South Wales
Dartmoor
Surrey Hills
Family holiday in the Alps, will try to get some riding in then.
Uni in September, hopefully at Bangor, so plenty of North Wales riding then.
Something with at least 1500m vertical in a day
One of the newish signposted local loops(not expecting anything special, but bike km are a good thing)
Ride in at least one other country (Cairngorms maybe?)
Ride 100km in a day/weekend (maybe - not done that for years)
Jeez Dave we're gonna be busy trying to fit all that lot in - think that's probably at least 20 weekends worth of stuff?! You got a load of passes out saved up?
Nothing specific from me, just want to get fitter and try not to break myself this year. Maybe a trip back to the Alps, and latest honeymoon idea is (a decent chunk of) the Colorado trail. Just need to organise a wedding first to justify that!
A more of the lakes
The South Wales trail centers
Andorra
Back to Tenerife. The trails out there are just soooo nice..
Out to joyriders in May for a week and ride as much as poss between now and then, be it road or mtb, then carry on riding post Spain, hope to get to Lake District this year too
Club trip to Exmoor for 3 days of riding
At least 2 weekends in the Quantocks (just been last Friday, still epic even in biblical rain!)
Bivvy's in Jan, Feb, March, October, November, December
A summer bivvy (never done one yet!)
SSUK champs just down the road ๐
Gravity Enduro at QE Park (totally new for me)
NOT Mountain Mayhem. I say this every year and still get roped into it.
A sportive, just to see if it ignites the old road racing spark a bit.
Catching a couple of stages of the TDF - St Malo & Mont St Michel as easy access from here.
Every thursday night ride come hell or high water (probably both)
Plenty of Sunday club rides round the South
Thats quite a bit now i've thought about it!
Sub 23 10
Sub 60 25
Sub 2hr 8 50
L2P in 24h
Might have a crack at London to Brighton offroad
My to do list is aimed at completeing the Snow Roads 300km Audax on the 25th of May and the Edinburgh marathon on the 26th of May in reasonable times for both. So lots of trips to my old routes in the Borders, and lots of rides round Perthshire.
Then there is the small matter of doing a LEJOG - potentially offroad.
So a big year ahead - probably looking at a 15000mile ish year.
Just need to organise a wedding first to justify that!
well get on with it then, I want to do some 'dad dancing' ๐
and I don't think we will get all those in TBH
Anywhere. Any ride I go on this year will be an absolute bonus.
Paris to London, I'd love to do that. I'd be up for joining you on a little tour of Anglesea mate! I'm based in Llandudno, could probably get another couple of bods off here involved?!

Will do one event this year - This is enduro 11 hopefully in Kinlochleven again.

Hope to start getting out more soon as intend doing a coast to coast in a day for my 60th. A few other possibles if I can build up the fitness.

A sportive or 2
12 hour or even 24 hour solo (or pair/team|)
A few more bad brains rides this year (including weekend bash)
Circuit of Arran - and a few more Scottish routes
TPT or Leeds/Liverpool canal
I've had similar plans the last few years but injuries have got in the way, so the main aim is to avoid spills and oncoming motorbikes!
The Tour Divide if work will give me the time off.
An off-road End-To-End if they won't.
Im making a mid-pack XC comeback after about 2yrs in the wilderness. Plans are to do the Nationals, Midlands XC, a couple of enduros and the Verbier Grand Raid in Switzerland.
Really cant wait to get racing again....just need to lose the Xmas Podge first!
Ireland Gravity Enduro series
Local spring MTB series

We (me and MrAhsat aka p20) actually wrote a list yesterday:

Nan Bield (again been a whole)
Ullswater skyline bivi (probably with my brother, rather than p20)

Alp trip (if we have the pennies)
Probably another trip to the Quantocks!
We really need to get that van!
Sedona
"Gold Country" in California
Skyline
C2C
Woods behind Nationwide in Swindon.
Not really got a list, I just want to get better at bmx. Not arsed about mtb at the minute, haven't got enough fun places to ride it locally.
Having a young family my time is a lot more limited than everyone who has posted so far (also being skint doesn't help!)
So my goal for this year:
Ride all the short and medium loops from my two main Lakes books! Interspersed with Grizedale/Gisburn/Whinlatter that should keep me pretty busy all year! I will try and get a few of the closer Yorkshire routes in too, and a couple of the longer rides when time permits (ie we have the grandparents visiting and can get out for longer!)
Hopefully the better half will be joining me for some of these ๐ Again - grandparents depending!

Also if have time some XC races and Gravtiy enduro.
Might even have a pop at a 4x race if any local ish ones come up at Chicksands or PORC
Have a bike ride without getting soaking wet
Not really got a "to do" list. I've been talking about Snowdon for the last couple of years so it'd be nice to tick that off, also got some unfinished business at Penmachno. Mainly though I want to get out and discover a bit more locally.
I just want to carry on riding my bike(s) as much as possible, in as many interesting places as possible.
And if I can meet a nice normal man who can also ride a bike to keep me company even better ๐ ๐
This thread is proving helpfull for ideas. Now added the Applecross circuit to my list ๐
get out as much, if not more so than I did in 2012.
Take more photos and make a record of where I/ we rode.
Buy the GF a new bike after her old one was stolen.
Go on holiday with the GF and the "lads".
Fo' sho'

At this stage my ride must do's are:
1 week in Exmoor/Dartmoor in April (already booked)
Coast 2 Coast (Bivvy)
Weekend Bivvy/Bothy ride (not sure where yet?)
Doethie Valley
Afan
More North/South Downs.
A lot of talk of the Quantocks, feel this needs further investigation?
Top of the World, Whistler
+ all the usual stuff....
Erm..

Might do the "tourists" Paris-Roubaix or a part of it.
L'Eroica.
SSUK 2013 with all the beardies at Charlies place.

2013 will be the year to sort out the unfinished business, stuff that I've thus far failed to clean:
1. Ullock Pike descent, inc "that slab"
2. Snowdon Rangers
3. Rossett Gill (only gone up, wanna try down).
