Took a few at the local timed practise, found the metering to be awful, but overall image quality was pretty reasonable ...

Dave, where is that?

I forget the name of the ridge, but it is the one above Areches-Beaufort - on a week with trailaddiction at destination-x.

Awesome week of riding!

Rocketdog,
How did you manage the slow shutter speed ish effect with a gopro?

Is it some sort of post processing from video sort of trick?...

I was wondering this. Does it just automatically use a longer exposure in low light when in stills mode?

Low light just gives that effect, add some motion from the bike & that was the only useable pic from about 98 rubbish ones, go pro taking one pic every 10 secs

Quite impressed by some of the shots folks are getting. I can't seem to get much that isn't blurred or shaky...

I only figured out how to rip pictures off video the last time i used my GoPro. Taking them from the video gives better results than just taking photos on my lowly HD1.

Ahhh, must give the stills feature a try then! Never actually used it before, but actually now looking at the stationary bike part of the image, it makes sense really!

I'm using a white GP3 and the stills quality is far better than ripping video frames. In fact I use it far more like that than I do as a video camera.

I've normally just taken still from the video but tried the photo every X seconds thing there now. A quick run up the street produced 35 blurred pics and one in focus. Not a good ratio. THis is on the original HD version - are the later models any better?
