Has anyone managed to fit a post mount brake calliper to the rear of a caad12 please?

I know you can get a post mount to flat mount adapter but not sure if it will fit in the space available in this frame.

Why would you want to?

Because I already have the brakes (but not the frame yet). Also the front fork is post mount so bike has a mixture of the two anyway which you need to deal with if you buy frame only...

Anyone tried this?

Would fitting the wheel and positioning the caliper give you an idea?

Don't think he has the frame yet?

Frame is on the way now so will try fitting it in before I get an adapter. Maybe keeping it to 140mm rotor will help. Trying to do it on the cheap so don't want to start buying new brakes, callipers etc. if I can help it.

Always a bit of dremmel persuasion too....

I used HY/RDs on my Bokeh with a Shimano flat to post adapter while I waited for my eTap HRD to be delivered. Worked fine for 3 months.

I’ll see if I can pop out to the garage later and measure how much room there is in the triangle - I got mine as a whole bike somit has the flat mount calliper in there.

Great thanks. I have found a photo of one with post mount calliper now, think it might have been standard in one of the earlier models. Looks really tight though, like maybe only some callipers would fit.

You won't be able to fit a post mount brake onto a flat mount frame and just to add to your woes we had a Caad 12 in the shop this week and although the spec says post mount front brake it actually had a flat mount so it looks like you may need two new calipers .

You can, I've done it, Shimano make an adapter. I bought mine from CharlietheBikemonger.

Just Googled it and you are correct , I must be have got it the wrong way round so you can't fit a flat mount brake to a post mount frame . The Caad 12 we had in the shop definitely had 2 flat mount brakes on it though .

Yeah the 2018 ones have f&r flat mount and earlier ones have a mixture. I've bought a new 2016 one.

Thanks for all responses.
