Hi new here and as i say this maybe a stupid question. I rode at BPW for the first time this week on my Orange Crush. Now I had a great idea and let some pressure out the rear thinking that may cushion any rough stuff I rode over.Is this wise and if not what should I be doing?
If you didn't pinch flat then you're fine!
Generally with working out tyre pressure, I reduce it until I either feel horrible tyre squirm or burp/puncture. Then add a few psi.
All tyre and rim combos are different. It depends on whether they're tubeless or not, heavy duty carcass, tread compound, and so on ad infinitum.
If it felt right, then it was!
Excuse my ignorance, but pinch flat sounds like something found on one of those erotically challenged websites.
ajantom- I did get a puncture, actually 3 in the same tube, so I guess from what you say I shpould up the pressure a little
I'd also consider going tubeless.
You're able to run lower pressures without as much risk of puncture.
Pinch flat normally = snake bite puncture.
If the punctures holes were in pairs where the tyre hit the rim then yes, more pressure needed.
See Ive learnt allready cheers for the advice. Im looking at Full Suss at the mo so will probably run tubeless on whatever I buy rather than spending on the Crush now
