Tomthumb is right (Prefer the mix from powder, though)

Oh, and dinner? I assume you mean the evening meal? I'm afraid I don't speak unemployed. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm willing to eat all kinds of crap, but I've never liked pork pies much at all. Pastry tastes bleurg and that jelly stuff is rank. Much rather have a scotch egg or 7.

usually naked - no condiment, sometimes maybe a dash of Hendo's.

A pork pie saved my life once, they're excellent trail food, full of pork, and pie.

Remember, Friday is Pie-day, get a growler down you.

expensive pork pies are rank, they have too much meat in and not enough spice, ears and anus

warm pork pie should be eaten with mushy peas
cold pork pie should be eaten with English mustard or tomato chutney
or with an egg in the middle = gala pie

Hot pie = HP & mustard.
Cold pie = HP, mustard, pickle & coleslaw.

Pickle & coleslaw are vegetables, so that's 2 of your 5 a day sorted.

kimbers - you may not necessarily live to be 100 by avoiding food that's bad for you but it'll sure feel like it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why is a grannys growler like a pork pie?

Because with both you have to bite off the crust and suck out the jelly before you get to the meat!

Sorry I'll get my coat...

serve warm with mushy peas (minted if you like 'em that way)
embellish with HP........ tis the only way....
๐Ÿ˜€

edit - Ton, should you ever pass this way I'll introduce you to the delights of the pies from the TWO butchers in the village. As you would expect, both are home made, both have folk traveling from afar to buy them - I kid you not....
TWO butchers = starter and main course covered, just have to think of a dessert option for you........
ah - a glass of Belle Vue at the Riverhead - cherry flavoured beer, that'll fix it... mmm

During a pause in Peaslake I once witnessed a chap buying a pork pie from the deli, and then eating it with Colman's mustard that he squeezed onto it from a tube that he had in his Camelbak. If that was you, I salute you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, that'll be three of your five sorted.

Salad on your Kebab for tea, glass of Vimto and your +1 on the fruit and veg for the day.

I love healthy eating - my Beef Curry, rice & chips just had peas & onions in it ๐Ÿ˜€

Pickle! In fact, just cut out the middleman and get a pork and pickle pie. I only found out they existed the other day and I nearly died of joy.

Mushy peas. Brown sauce.

Marsdenman - you'd better be getting paid by Marsden Tourism Association with your unending promotion of the village. I *might* even come over and take a look myself (brought up in Meltham, now living in Holmfirth**)....Hmmm, on second thoughts maybe not ๐Ÿ˜‰

** via other places including Denby Dale The Pie Village (TM).

Three words.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmechanically recovered mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeat.

Pork pies, in fact any pies, shouldn't be made out of proper meat, that's just a waste. Lids, lips and ar$eholes. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Some slices of pickled beetroot and a huge dollop of Colemans. So big it tastes like the back of your nose is on fire

pickled beetroot and coleman's - enough so it feels like the back of your nose is on fire

ahh bollox what happened there - who cares, it's all worked for me, i'm off to find a factory produced mecanically recovered meat pie with just enough meat in it to justify the use of the word "pork"

..and some proper mustard, because i'm an educated, cultuered person, which excludes the use of broon sauce, and without any middle pretensions, so no minty peas either.

I can't belive you lot haven't solved this one yet. The answer to the question is Chilli Onion Relish,,, jeeeesus ๐Ÿ™„ .

Although Pickle will do at a push, as long as the pie is cold, but it can't be that nancy smooth stuff, has to have propper chunks in it ๐Ÿ˜‰
