Looking like a mid-week day off is in order & in 20 years of MTB never done any trail centre riding, unless you count FTD.

It's time to pop the cherry & visit Wales so 2 questions:

1. Which of the centres would you recommend?
2. Any decent B&B accommodation nearby that is bike friendly & has good food & ale in nearby proximity?

TIA

Afan will always be the main riders choice on here. As for which part of Afan, this will depend on how fit and confident you are. Glyncorrwg is the palce to go for a good all day ride if you are fit and confident.

As for B&B have a look for previous Afan threads using the search box top right.

First time at a trail centre? Try the Penhydd trail at Afan Argoed, or if you want to go 20 mins further on, do White's level at Glyncorrwg (where the cafe/food is much better). Both are short enough not to put you off if you get into difficulties, and both have alternatives if you love it and want more. Oh, and Glyncorrwg has a jet wash and bike shop too(Hi Steve). Both have showers. Cwmcarn is (arguably) slightly more technical than those two, but is nearer if you're crossing the bridge. Showers, jet wash and food there too. God, I love living in South Wales!
