Hello, off over to n Wales in the next couple of weeks and fancy a go at this route. Just wondering how rocky it is and whether it's worth putting my heavy wheels on? Any guidance? Cheers!

I'd not want to put heavy wheels on.
It's just a normal oldschool cross country route.

It's more boggy rather than rocky, great ride.

There is a "size of a babies head" rocky at the top of the last descent (if goung clockwise- over the bridge first) 200 yards from memory.
But, its ok. last we did it group of about ten, this was the only trail with no broken bikes and only one (comedy) off. Leon rode round a puddle, because he didn't won't to get wet. Sunk his front wheel up to the axle in the adjacent bog and went over the bars.. happy days.

Its lovely up there on a nice day. time it to head down with the sunset.

Did my DofE Gold expedition there - 35 years ago this summer ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I certainly remember it as more boggy than rocky. Presumably Roman Steps is not for riding?

What's is like counter-clockwise?

I did it clockwise and couldn't decide if I'd done it the right way around. And definitely agree about the boggy thing!
