I'm after a inter commute but can't stomach the extra £100 on-one stick on the pompino. Any other sub £500 alternatives other than a keenly priced Genesis Day One. Drops, singlespeed, mudguard friendly.

Cheers

Look for one 2nd hand? Bomb proof frames and reasonably good paint job (for on-one).

If you could go an extra £50 the pearson Hanzo is well thought of or a langster with crud catchers. TBH I commute all winter on a Langster and have never bothered with mudguards

Think the offer may only be for limited sizes though. That SE Lager gets pretty good reviews too.

Got rid of my drop bar Roadrat a couple of months back and am missing having a single speed roadie in the stable... might be tempted myself!

Edinburgh Bikes Revolution Track? Currently £276. http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwPNLqrymode.a4p?f_ProductID=12966&f_FullProductVersion=1&f_SupersetQRY=C438&f_SortOrderID=1&f_bct=c003155c018341
Though I don't think it will take proper mudguards.
