Ok, Cotic Soul used for general mincing around in the Surrey hills/welsh trail centres. Just picked up a maxxis crossmark 2.25 for the back cos I hear they roll great. I'm not a serial tyre swapper so after a fit and forget combo, til it gets wet in the winter anyway.
I'm left with a choice for the front:
minion DHF 2.35 single ply, wire bead
high roller 2.35 single ply super tacky, wire bead
what would you go with?
If it's a hung vote I'll go with the high roller cos it's already on there. There are only two options because those are the two tyres I already own.

Never used the minion on the front so don't know what it's like.
Minion F/Crossmark R for miles in the saddle and High Roller F/Minion R for AM days.

Supertacky for XC is just masochism.
Highroller would be my choice
The minion is 60a I think. It's not labelled super tacky and feels quite different to the rubber ofthe high roller.

Maybe I'll try an Ardent when I next need a new front.
I think I'm gonna go with the Minion, see how I get on. If I miss the grip of the supertacky high roller I'll switch 'em out.
I can't see the Minion letting you down, they bite like a shark! lol
Ardent for me but I am also running a semi slick on the back
