I see JRA do it, but only if you're buying a built rim from them. I'd definitely do that if I was asking them to build, but I'd rather build my own.

Loads of advice on the "how" on the cranks thread, but wondering if anyone's polished up rims, and how long it took?

Guess the same advice would follow on rims as well as cranks?

Might have to be careful if using any kind of mechanical polishing mop/wheel to avoid heat build-up which may cause damage / warping to the thin alloy on rims though.

I hope you are considering doing this before you build up the rim onto a wheel!

I'm relieved to announce that I'm saving myself approx. 1 metric tonne of ballache by buying some rims that are polished silver already.
