As long as you're heads the right shape they're great. Nice and light with good coverage. Ventilation and cooling is a lot better than you'd think.

I tried one on at some shop in Harrogate - looked pretty pimp, but it sat quite high on my head and felt a bit mushroomy. Bit of a shame 'cos I could really fancy one otherwise.
Does anyone know what the difference between the 2 models is, other than price?

I think the difference is the more expensive "race" has extra aramid fiber re-enforcements in it. They are nice, its just a case of finding one to try on,.... Maybe if i can get to cycle show there will be one there?
