I have worn Giro toad helmets for years. They fit my head nicely and the quality has always been good.
Lately I have had problems with the fragility of the latest version of the Roc Loc. Keeps snapping.
I am considering a POC Octal, but any real world experience?
I have a Trabec for mountain biking and I like it, but can't work out why the Octal is so much more expensive than the Trabec (twice the price).
They use an intentionally low density polystyrene, but how does it hold up to daily abuse?
Yes had one since September last year as a present to myself for only screaming a bit for about 45 minutes whilst in the operating theatre for my eye operation in mid August.
It's been fine, used it in Trentino in late September for some actually quite warm riding up hills. It was pretty well vented.
I've been using it for club runs since then and will be taking it to Italy in late June in prep for riding the Maratona.
