Can anyone recommend a good replacement for the rear tyre on my Pine Mountain? I find the current Nobby Nic a bit lightweight! 27.5 x 2.8 please.

Minion DHRII

+1

Been running one for the last year (HR2 upfront).

Works for me.

Maxxis Chronicle's are pretty good depending on what you're using them for. Fast rolling over most surfaces but nae use in mud.

Wondering if Aggressors are good for janky winter conditions and hopefully they come in 2.6/2.8”?

I’m thinking a 2.6” DHRII Minion up front & an 2.5”/2.6” Aggressor out back to also replace 2.8” Squirmy unsupportive NNs.

The Magic Mary 2.8 has been brilliant on the few rides I've had with it so far.

I like the 2.8 Rekon on the back of my Solaris. Definitely tougher than the Rocket Ron it replaced.

Running a 2.8 Butcher Blck Dmnd on the rear. Can't fault it.

+1 for the Rekon. Reasonably grippy, reasonably tough, faster rolling than toothier stuff like the DHR. A bit like a much bigger Ardent. Good out back, not so clever as a front tyre. Works well in the Peak paired with a Minion DHF 2.8 up front.

Another vote for Rekon. Had to check my bike specs because the tyre is completely unobtrusive and just gets on with it.

I like my Nobby Nic in that size, it does the trick for me.

All you people advocating plus... are you on FS or HT bikes?

I'm on a 29r FS and wondering if going plus is worth it?
