[#1944249]

I have an Orane P7, apparently 140mm is the perfect amount of travel for them. I have normal QR hubs and would prefer not to have the extra expense of getting a new hub. Adjustable travel is not imortant to me.

At the moment the contenders are...

RockShox Sektor RL Coil - 275 GBP
Rockshox Sektor RL Air - 333 GBP
Rockshox Revelation Air RLT (150mm, but would be ok? yes) - 360 GBP - my price limit.

Or get second hand Pikes and get a new hub.

Any suggestions/comments/deals welcome.

Cheers.

Mmm more choices, does anyone have any sort of opinion of what would be best?

IIRC Rev's are supposedly higher up RS range & so supposedly better than the Recon's or new Sektor fork, but that may also be affected by their model within the range (race/WC/u-turn etc), no idea about the new RLT designation. As for the extra travel you should be able to fit a spacer into them to reduce it, but 10mm should make little difference.

How about some RS 140mm Revelation RLT for £300ish with the extra 10% discount

For peace of mind I'd go for some kind of through axle. Like Garlic Bread, it's the future...

I've got some Recon coils on a Pipedream Sirius (red), fine for me but I'm not the gnarliest rider out there.

I'd get some coil U-turn Sektors and a 20mm wheel (and I have)

why..
because I prefer coil to air
U-turn is very handy, and I use it all the time
20mm is much stiffer than QR, and worth spending on
and the new Sektors are very nice IMO.

Just got me Revelation RLT 2011, I have gone from Reba SL 2009. I can say that they are really nice and plush, hugely adjustable and the dual flow rebound is noticeable. I have them set at 120mm at the mo on my Trance X, Merlin are doing them cheap £332 -10%. Got mine from on-one for £300 😀
