Hi Chaps,
Wondered if anyone can enlighten me with some details on planning permission.
Here's the deal, A friend has secured a private plot of land near a footpath and driveway to a couple of houses. One of the house owners owns this land, the other wants us to get planning permission for using the land for building trails.
We had most of the set done before this issue appeared.
With the trails being dug from clay will this require planning?
They aren't permanent structures however there is a wooden roll-in.
They will be chained at all times and warning signs will be put up around the set however the land isn't fenced or gated off.

gardenlaw.co.uk might be a good place to ask this sort of thing - might also be worth checking you've not done anything wrong by hacking limbs off the trees too.
If any member of the public hurt themselves on any part of the land they could sue the landowner - do they have insurance? - I'm not sure how the jumps will be 'chained! ?
If it isn't a permanent structure then it shouldn't need planning (like wooden sheds!) but call the local council planning dept for more advice.
You need planning permission to modify the height of the ground by more than 30cm.
You may also need planning permission for the change of use too.

By the sounds of it you wouldn't get it. Unless they're completely inept they could find something off the valid list of reasons to object, otherwise they wouldnt be pressing the issue.
