*Birthday Bike Ride

Its my birthday next weekend - Have booked next Monday off work to go for a bike ride

criteria - live in Worksop, north Notts - willing to drive for a couple of hours, but don't want to feel like i've done more driving than riding

choices so far;

Peak District ride from Hathersage (hope valley circuit from White Peak VG guide book) - have done several rides that cover part of the route and feel that I should try something different

Something else in Peak District?

Embsay Crags - looked nice in the last issue of the mag (Rocket etc review), but no idea of a route, but don't know what it will be like after all the rain

Had even wondered about maybe trying Cannock or a North Wales trail centre (is it CyB?) - but probably will be discounted on travelling time/ distance

any other suggestions?

Certain routes in the peak are best left to drier conditions but the the classic Kinder loop stands up well in very wet weather.

If it's still soaking wet then maybe add Lee/Cragg Quarry to your list.

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/embsay-crag-route

will it be a swamp up there? (i'm not from the area so don't know if its boggy or rocky)
